Atari 400 The Atari 400 Basic Computer was released in 1979 and was aimed at more at kids, rather than adults. The Atari 400 was nicknamed Candy and was a 8 bit computer without a monitor port. It was released with 8k RAM that progressed to 16k RAM and the upgradeable 48k RAM pack. The computer contained four controller ports, a membrane type keyboard and a hard wired RF switch.
