              The official
Nintendo joystick: the NES Advantage. 2 Players could play at once,
as long as the play wasn't simultaneous. NES-026
The NES Advantage allows for two players to play from one controller, as long as the game is not simultaneous. If the game is, the cord must be left out of controller slot two and a regular controller must be put in. The cord with the white line goes in the player one slot, the plain cord goes in slot two. Model HC 66-7 Fukushima
Sansui Co., Ltd. Licensed by Nintendo, red plug goes into the side of the NES 1. This switch actually turned on a somewhat gimmicky audio
feature that "shifted" the balance of the audio right or left for a
few seconds depending on whether the right or left joypad button was
pressed.  The audio shifted for approximately 3 seconds before it would smoothly shift back into balanced monaural audio.  This was a
way to simulate stereo audio from a system that only roduced mono
sound. -Mykie via email

          | | Grey & Orange version
              of the Light Gun. NES-005
 The orange gun came out
later in the lifespan of the NES. It was painted bright orange to
show that it was a toy and not a real weapon. The Zapper light gun must be plugged into slot two, with the optional controller in slot one. The user must stand six feet away and adjust brightness and contrast levels on the TV set in order to help the shots register easier. To select the game on a multigame pack, point away from the screen and fire. When the selected game is highlighted fire at the screen to confirm. Introduced in 1985. Take me to the top! |

These controllers were known for being very sensative and easily broken. Take me to the top! |
